About being obsessed on South Park (&Co) projects? SAD!

A madman's ramblings
(aka: I'm going to take a lot of time to write something I could I have written in way less).

I'm not even going to re read this stuff any soon as I'm going to publish it.

Post-Trump Political PTSD

Wrote on 2025/04/27 at 4AM while I had a very high fever.
Eventually picked it up again on 2025/06/02

Before reading this, consider:
1. I am not a burger.
2. I visited burgerland once.
3. I know USA politics only as some South Park plot.

I'm just an americaboo. Just a fan. I don't know what I am saying.

The decline of politics

Politics have always been a BIG part of South Park. They love to show "the current thing" and either give their insights or just meme about it.
But after receiving the most massive DUNK in the history of dunking, South Park tried to avoid the topic as much as possible.

That DUNK was Trump winning the 2016 election.

Now, let's get a moment for experiencing 2016 again:

Trump waving his hand as to say 'hello'
Japanese Donald Trump Commercialトランプ2016 [YouTube]
PINK GUY · GAYS 4 DONALD TRUMP

Everybody — EVERYBODY — loved to talk about the bad orange man.
Nothing good was said. Still, this man was memed into the White House, and the biggest victims of this joke was South Park, who thought it would be hilarious to portray their most popular adult character as Trump — because lmao Trump would never win lol lolerino.

They handled the topic in the most stupid way. They had built a whole season around the assumption that Clinton would win, a full season about Trump and they didn’t even think about making a typical election episode, like in the past, where both sides winning wouldn't have impacted the plot that much.
They straight-up made a Clinton-wins episode.
HOW CARELESS.
HOW INNOCENT.
Just thinking about it gives me second-hand embarrassment.
South Park, where do you live? California?
You of ALL PEOPLE should have understood this.
But no, South Park was in shambles.
Victims of the new politics.
Politics that write themselves as jokes.
South Park became so out of touch with the world, and the next season tried to involve as little politics as possible, at least regarding Trump.
They had to show a little bit of Garrison here and there, but it was hard since he had literally become Donald Trump.

Total South Park humiliation.

Not only did Trump win the election, but he stole GARRISON from them. (He didn't)
How would they ever recover from such a blow?
They didn’t.

They didn’t — at least, not for a long time.
The last time they showed President Garrison-Trump was during the COVID episodes, where he had to be mentioned somehow since he was the PRESIDENT.
It was somewhat dramatic, with him killing a pangolin, the cure of COVID, with a flamethrower (??), but then South Park did something they had never done before: they told people to go vote.

They told people to go vote and they even TOOK A SIDE.

Vote or Die, Motherfucker

It's so insane, they never went this far on taking a side, politically speaking.
They always took pride in being "centrists" and that "both sides are bad".

I hate conservatives but I really fucking hate liberals
Matt Stone

Sure, they clearly took a side during the whole Trump season, but to literally tell you to VOTE, to VOTE AGAINST TRUMP by stressing how dire the situation was — that was new.
South Park, on its knees, begging the viewers to let them keep making jokes.

And, as it usually goes, after a red government, a blue one wins next.
Biden became president.

No word was ever spoken about this.

They made an entire Garrison redemption arc, where the only way to fix the massive mistake of turning him into Trump was to pull a mystic canon move by the great, godly creators themselves.
But about the actual presidency? Nothing.
Biden was never mentioned.
He never even showed up.
He doesn’t even have a character.

Biden did his load of crap during his presidency, but the trauma was too big.
If memeing a president into office was possible, what could happen if they made even one measly joke about Biden?

This is all conjecture, but I think they didn’t want to influence anything ever again — at least not against Trump.
So they avoided the topic forever, until they were forced to recognize Trump might happen again.
They made that episode where Garrison starts itching to rally again, practically begging Americans: if they didn’t care about their country, at least spare a thought for poor Garrison, who would have to break his lovely healthy relationship if this happens again.

Rick and Garrison

Not only did this not work, but honestly, I think seeing something like that would make the silliest, most spiteful hater vote just to break another of these LGBTQ+ DEI FORCED RELATIONSHIPS. (tryharding rn)

At the same time, they tried to take the show to a status of "kids being kids" and funny slice of life nothingless.
The biggest example is Pajama Day, which was a terrible season opening. Very boring and unfun idk.

And I LOVE when they go schizo and show kids being retarded, I LOVE IT, but damn that last season was a drag. Some episodes were cool and I liked them a lot, but for the most part that season was a big nothing.

Politics were still argued, like with the Ukraine War, where the joke was about Putin having a non-functional dick.
But still, very lame.

So whatever — Trump 2024.

News so hard to digest, South Park was forced to take a very long cigarette break, away from the writers' room, by their big company owners.
So no election episode. And also Trump won AGAIN!

After this I was waiting for a "world is burning" episode, like when Trump won the last time — people screaming, killing themselves — but months passed and they still never said anything.

Plus, there was that Viacom vs Warner Bros thing going on, that probably impacted on the production.

Until NOW!

New teaser

Fire
South Park | Season 27 Teaser [YouTube]

The trailer seems to be very, very about politics, as it shows a lot of actual events.
Trump is never shown, and Garrison is just Garrison in his scenes, so it could be that they gave up the whole Garrison-Trump thing, thankfully.
Still, they love to show cool things in promos and then never actually include them in the show [Imgur], so anything seen in the trailer is potentially useless.

Ketamine
Ketamine

I haven't heard about ket in a long time so I don't know why they are bringing it up now. I searched around for a bit [article] and it seems Musk is using ketamine as a "therapy" for "depression".

Despite finding everything this man does idiotic, I saw they approved a ketamine-based nasal spray for treating depression. So I don't know, sounds wild, but whatever, I'm not a doctor :^) I'm not going to think about this right now.

Since at the end of the teaser, Randy arrives and very straightforwardly states he is about to do ket and "fuck around with the government", I GUESS it will be an Elon-related topic (1) for real.

South Park on fire
FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE

Not gonna lie, I expected the new trailer to start with everything on fire only to symbolize the state of politics, but since California actually did go on fire it might be about that too.

The French taking back the Statue of Liberty
American Tour Eiffel
If Trump wins again, we should take back the Statue of Liberty.
Raphaël Glucksmann, EU Parliament

This scene is a reference to that quote. Some sort of Trump HAS to exist in this season, Garrison or not.

Planes exploding
Butters to prison

This happened in time with the DOGE Musk team going around firing people and it has been considered related from two different point of views:

So yet again an Elon-related topic (2).

WOW!! MARVIN THE MARTIAN!
Spaceeeeeeeeeeeeee
The children have guns

WOWOW WHAT ARE THEY DOING WOW A DEAD MARKLAR DAMN

Also Basu told me the guy in the back is P Diddy and that he has some shit going on [Wikipedia].
I don't know how the dozen of toilets full with shit and piss are related to his situation, or just why is he visiting the Marklar planet. Maybe he is trafficking Marklars, making them prostitute.

Streaming aborts
Two aborts in this picture
A couple of aborts

One of the things Trump wanted to do is to close all abortion clinics.
I don't think Matt and Trey ever displayed clear support to abortion. By how they portray it in the show, I don't think they go as far as to be pro-life, but they often joke about it, like by making huge lines of pregnant women waiting to get an abortion at the clinic called "Unplanned Parenthood". So I don't know what are their intentions here.

Moses
Moses
Evil Moses

Fuck yeah Israel episode let's fucking go. Also Moses looks all evil here, it must either be on the evil Israel shooting stuff around or generic antisemitism by making Jews evil because Israel bad.

Either way I'm stoked. Imagine: Cartman is pro Israel and Kyle pro Palestine. Or the opposite. I don't care. Funniest shit either way. (They probably won't do that)

Thoughts

I'm EXCITED. I love satire, so I'm happy if they bring up juicy topics like these.

If they give up on Trump Garrison, that’s cool — but who will be Trump now? I don't feel like they can ignore it forever.
They could make LITERALLY Trump, or get someone else to fill that role. Someone who is not IMPORTANT. Or a NEW character.
To me, every option seems bad. I don't know how would I react to Garrison switching places with some other guy. Like, I don't know?? Mr Hankey comes back with his bad tweets and now he has a blonde wig? IDK.
Randy seems like he will get some sort of Elon Musk role maybe? At least for one episode. I would GREATLY APPRECIATE if Musk is just Musk and not someone parrotting him. I get that their intention might be to avoid giving these people "attentions", but please I want caricatures. Bezos was so funny. I want something like that again. Ok that Elon already appeared once, so maybe he probably won't get some funny face. But still, pls, no Randy everywhere.

Delay update

South Park got delayed, from July 9 to July 23. *millions screaming*
There's this merger thing between Paramount and Skydance [Wikipedia].

Paramount
It's taking them so long because they're trying to craft the worst logo in history

Matt and Trey seem very mad about it, as they said this:

This merger is a shitshow and is fucking up South Park.
We are at the studio working on new episodes and we hope the fans get to see them somehow.
Trey Parker & Matt Stone

And yes, it sucks — but you know what else sucks?
This promo image:

Jesus is back
Jesus is back!

First of all: Garrison is there. He’s not orange — and that's good. Love that.

Secondly: the image itself fucking sucks. I hate when they put that shadow gradient thing on them. I hate when they add anything at all. They are pieces of paper — what is that 3D attempt? Why are you trying to give them roundness? If you really want to do this, add another PIECE OF PAPER with the shadow color. Not THIS. Disgusting.

And last thing: Jesus is there! Wow! I don't know — but the first thought that passed through my mind when I saw him was that they are going to kill him off. Something dramatic has to happen. I think.
Satan already died and they never brought it up again. I think about it often. It plagues my mind. Satan got killed by ManBearPig, he got wings, and went up to Heaven. It's insane. What does Jesus know about this? Will there be something about this? Does Jesus know? Does Trey know??
Satan aside, Moses will be here. So will they have something to do with each other? Moses still seems to be in some kind of tech room. Is it the same room from the Super Best Friends episode?
If he's still operating from there, will the other religious friends be involved? Probably not.

Anyway, it took me so long to put all these thoughts into one HTML page, so I will find out soon what is going to happen. They even delayed the season by two weeks just to let me finish this. Very kind.
